These pianists will be scheduled to play for the Studio Master Classes and the Studio Recitals. The faculty members are generally matched with one or two pianists who will accompany their studio for the year. However, remember to bring another copy to any performance. When you schedule a rehearsal, either give the music directly to your accompanist or place a copy of the music in the accompanist’s mailbox. S tudents should always, ahead of time, give accompanist a copy of the music that they can take away and practice. For pieces that are not included in these materials, the students must provide their own music to the pianist. The accompanists are provided with copies of the Suzuki Books 1-5 and Fun with Solos. If no one has signed up by the beginning of the rehearsal session downtown, or prior to 7 pm in Towson or 6:30 pm in Howard County, then the pianist may leave. On the days of rehearsals, students may sign up online when there are empty slots left (not including sign-ups for 5-5:30 pm rehearsals in Howard County and 9-10 am rehearsals Downtown.) This does not count as part of the student’s allowed sign-up time. With any questions you may call the Preparatory Office:

  • You MUST cancel a minimum of two hours before your rehearsal begins.

    Performance Academy students can sign up for a maximum of 20 minutes/day using the online schedule.This information should be consistent each time you sign up for a rehearsal. Rehearsals take place at the Downtown, Towson, and Howard County campuses, and are scheduled online. Students must keep the time sheet all semester, and turn it in to the Performance Academy director at the end of each semester. After every rehearsal with a pianist, PA students must ask the pianist to sign their time sheet. (No rollover) Sign-up ProcedureĮach PA student will receive a Piano rehearsal time sheet to keep track of their time with accompanists. The rehearsal hours that are not used in a given semester cannot be transferred to the following semester. PA students may sign-up to rehearse with an accompanist a maximum of five times a semester during the Preparatory rehearsal hours. This rehearsal time is paid for by the Performance Academy and can include rehearsals during Preparatory rehearsal hours, rehearsals scheduled with an accompanist at a mutually agreeable time, accompanist’s attendance at lessons, or a combination. Students and families must make arrangements and pay accompanists for the following events:Įach PA student will receive up to three hours of rehearsal time with a staff accompanist each semester.
