If those remain on, it's a sign that something is wrong with hardware somewhere. Try the following in order (just to avoid crossing results):ġ.) Are you noticing any red lights on the motherboard that stay on when the computer is powered up? There are usually one or more that will go on for 10 seconds or less, then switch off. However I've tried running the game with and without Afterburner running, even fully uninstalled it. I use MSI afterburner to keep my fans spinning because my card uses Zero Frozr tech which keeps them Idle until high temp kick in, but I'd rather not risk letting them get to hot. I've also tried starting a new game to check if my saves had been corrupted, but the same issue remained even in a new game. I've tried verifying and repairing the game cache through GOG to no avail
#Those who remain fps drop mods#
However even after uninstalling the lighting and shader mods and rolling back Gpu Drivers, the FPS stays at 10. The only other changes that I made around the same time that things went downhill was installing the latest "Super Turbo Lighting Mod" and the latest "Reshade SweetFX" also installing the most recent AMD gpu drivers. Upon rebooting, the Witcher became unplayable and wont go anywhere above 5-15 fps with all settings set to LOW. I've accumulated a few mods over the years and they've never impacted performance, until recently I was playing, left the room and came back a few minutes later to find my PC powered down, So I've been playing the Witcher 3 in a combination of HIGH and ULTRA settings since day 1 just fine probably not 60fps but the game ran smooth and looked pretty. Sudden FPS drop and major lag (unplayable)
